The Great Dane gets a lot of attention in public because of the size. It is a tall, physically impressive and very strong dog with incredible athletic skill. Be prepared to be approached by people with lots of questions.

 

Great Danes love the the attention and will show affection and acceptance of strangers by leaning against them. Properly socializing your Great Dane is essential. They are not aware of their size and strength, particularly as younger dogs,

 

and can sometimes be clumbsy, creating uncomfortable accidents like knocking a small child down unintentionally or upending a chair or table.
